Materials: A soft blanket or cushion, dim light.
Go to the quietest corner of the room with your child and create a soft space on the floor. Take your child into your lap or have them sit beside you, resting their head on your chest. Start swaying gently back and forth or side to side, as if you are floating on a cloud in the sky. Sing a lullaby you know, first in a normal tone, then in a whisper, and finally by just humming with your mouth closed. As your voice gets lower, slow down your movements as well. Occasionally, massage their back with rhythmic and soft touches.
As a result; this activity improves the child's auditory attention, allows them to distinguish between different voice tones, and helps them calm down emotionally (regulation) by strengthening secure attachment through skin contact.
