Winter Fairy Tale Party at Home
2
30 Mins
Materials: A pack of cotton balls or torn white paper bits, 5-6 plastic bottle caps, colored cardboard, glue, energetic music.
First, stand in the middle of the living room with your child, shout "It's snowing!", throw the cotton or papers into the air, and dance under this artificial snow accompanied by music. When the music stops, everyone must freeze. Examine the distances between the fallen cotton pieces and the plastic caps you tossed randomly. Ask your child questions like "How many fingers fit between this cap and that snowflake?" or "How many steps away is it?" encouraging them to measure using their own hands or feet.
Afterward, gather these materials from the floor and move to the table. Create your own winter scene by gluing the cotton and caps you measured and collected onto the colored cardboard.
As a result; this activity supports the child's gross motor skills through dancing, while developing basic mathematical and cognitive perception by measuring distances between objects using non-standard units (hand spans, steps).
